Be the Difference Foundation’s mission is to help women increase their chance of survival of ovarian cancer. Established by four ovarian cancer survivors in August 2012, the Foundation’s goal is to raise money to fund research for better treatment options, effective early screening, symptomatic and genetic predisposition awareness and ultimately, a cure.
To support the fundraising and awareness efforts of the Foundation, we are seeking a full-time Marketing & Public Relations Manager to advance the Foundation’s position with relevant constituents as well as drive broader awareness and donor support.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of public relations, marketing, communications, social media and advertising
- Manage and grow cause marketing initiative in partnership with independent sewing retailers
- Ensure all communication remains consistent and reflects Foundation message/vision
- Assist in coordinating multiple large fundraising events each year
- Provide creative direction for ads, marketing materials and fundraising event collateral
- Website maintenance including graphic design and editing
- Develop content for website, social media, etc.
- Plan and produce weekly email communication to donors and supporters
- Build and sustain social media community
- Create and support marketing strategies of the Foundation
- Develop and maintain strategic alliances with partners to promote the Foundation’s mission
- Provide media relations as necessary for events and project
- Work with the leadership team on strategic planning, marketing communication work plans, goals, objectives, activities and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field
- 1-3 years of experience
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop)
- AP Style writing and editing experience
- Proven success and understanding of social media and email marketing
- Basic working knowledge of HTML
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage details
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Based in Dallas/Fort Worth area
