Be The Difference Foundation is proud to partner with Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance to present their innovative educational program, Survivors Teaching Students® in the DFW metroplex.  STS® brings ovarian cancer survivors and caregivers into the classrooms of future healthcare professionals — physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and physician assistants to share their stories of diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship along with facts about ovarian cancer.  The objective is to increase the students’ understanding of ovarian cancer symptoms and risk factors so that they will be able to diagnose the disease in earlier, most treatable stages.

STS® is currently being offered at the following programs in the DFW metroplex and surrounding areas:

  • UT Southwestern Medical School
  • TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine Fort Worth
  • TCU – Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences
  • University of North Texas Health Science Center
  • Texas A&M University College of Medicine
  • Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing

Ovarian Cancer Survivors and Caregivers

Sharing your story is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer among the next generation of healthcare providers.  Help future ovarian cancer patients be diagnosed earlier when the disease is in the most treatable stages.  Please contact Jill Bach at sts@bethedifferencefoundation.org to learn more.
