Covid-19 Hasn't Stopped Ovarian Cancer
With the crazy world we’re living in today of virtual meetings, zoom happy hours, working from home, and constant mask wearing, it’s hard sometimes to think about anything other than when Covid-19 will safely end. But that’s not the case for the thousands of women out there fighting Ovarian Cancer. It’s easy to say “out of sight out of mind”, but here at Be the Difference Foundation it is always top of mind.
Even with Covid-19, women are still getting diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Women are still getting procedures, going through treatment, and trying to survive daily life on top of being immunocompromised in this Covid-19 world. The opportunity for survival is lower during these times, and that is what we’re here for. Be the Difference, with the help of our incredible donors and community, help make sure women get the opportunity to get on a clinical trial. We assist in assuring researchers continue to receive funding for research. Our work doesn’t stop just because of Covid-19. In fact, we want to work harder!
In these times, women fighting Ovarian Cancer are alone. They are unable to have visitors in the Infusion rooms, or in the hospitals with them. We strive to be the ones to hold their hands in those lonely moments by raising funds and continuing in the fight against ovarian cancer. As September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, it’s important to remember that now is the time that we support all women and the people in their lives who have been affected by ovarian cancer. You can be the difference by supporting us as we remain vigilant in our mission to create awareness and improve the lives of all people affected by ovarian cancer through education, support and research
