Why I Ride: Seth Mierl
My name is Seth Mierl, and I ride to raise awareness and to help fund research for ovarian cancer.
I am a momma’s boy riding in memory of my mom, Carolyn, who fought courageously after being diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer. She turned out to be the strongest person I have ever known both mentally and physically. Not once did she never feel sorry for herself, but it was obvious she fought for the things she loved most in her life… her family! She also loved baseball and any other sports I played. I am not sure she ever missed a game starting when I was 6 years old, even traveling Texas to watch all of my collegiate baseball games just before she was diagnosed. She loved the beach, Mexican food, margaritas and any Kenny Rogers song. Her smile could light up a room! It sounds cliché, but if you knew or ever met her, you know what I am talking about.
I also ride for the closest women in my life…my wife, daughter, mother-in-law, sisters, aunts, etc, as well as my son… he too is a momma’s boy! Let’s raise awareness so that you and/or the ones close to you are not terminally effected! Let’s do this… let’s ride!
